Visit by Scottish Opera

On the hottest day of the year even the gorgeous weather could not keep the crowds away from Knightswood Community Centre as it opened the doors to Scottish Opera. The day started with Be a Sport Spike, a performance for a younger audience who played their part interacting with Spike McTavish the greatest sportsman who ever lived. The staff and children from TASK After School Care really enjoyed their first taste of opera. The show was that good that Spike turned up for a repeat showing and once again played to an enthusiastic audience from Summerston Childcare who again were very interactive. Between the two showings around 30 young people were introduced to operatic music from Scottish Opera. The final showing was a Little Bit of HMS Pinafore by Gilbert & Sullivan. This showing was played to a full house of an audience of 40 of all ages from the community who again were interactive with the cast. We must say a big thank you to all who turned up in such beautiful weather to see Scottish Opera’s pop-up opera at Knightswood Community Centre. We also say thanks to Scottish Opera who we hope will be back soon so keep a good look out for this.
