The Alderman Hall in Knightswood Community Centre will be closed until the end of June as major renovation is planned in the next two months. Some youth groups and organisations have decided to wait until the work is completed before restarting their classes.
In the hall, the windows and the outside curtain wall are being replaced. The heating system is being upgraded; this will resolve the hall being cold in the winter months. The bottom row of the new triple glazed windows will be made from obscured glass and this will provide a greater degree of privacy for the activities taking place in the hall.
This renovation work was originally intended to be carried out during July last year however it was postponed because of the pandemic.
