The Centre has to close for two weeks from Saturday 3rd October to Friday 16th October 2020, because of major refurbishment to the electrical and plumbing infrastructure to sort out our hot water system once and for all. The only organisation that will continue to operate from the Centre will be the essential NHS Anticoagulant Clinic.
Knightswood Community Centre has at present a limited programme of activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The trustees of Knightswood Community SCIO agreed to a gradual re-opening of the Centre on the 7th September 2020, prioritising initially children and young people groups and organisations in line with Scottish Government Policy. The Café is now closed and members of the public cannot drop-in to the Centre.
Knightswood Community Centre never closed during the Covid lockdown. The Knightswood Community Home Meals Service operated from the Centre’s Community Café and prepared 50 meals per day delivering to the homes of older and more vulnerable local residents. The Centre also opened for the essential NHS Glasgow & Clyde Anticoagulant Service which provided a community clinic for warfarin patients.
